Knight Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is a licensed contractor and obtains all municipal and state permits as required. Knight Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is insured for Workers Compensation and for liability insurance.
Compliance with codes and adequate insurance is important to you for liability reasons. If a worker is injured and the contractor is not insured, you can be held liable. Or, if there is an insurance claim due to a fire or an accident that is related to unlicensed work or work for which no permit was obtained, your insurance company may dispute the claim. You also want to avoid questions related to workmanship when you sell the house, which may end up costing you more than the original repair to correct.
Knight Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. carries the required $25,000 Mechanical Contractor Bond through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. This can be verified on their license look up website at secure.doli.state.mn.us/lookup/licensing. In addition, our competency card is for conditioned air and gas is renewed through the City of St. Louis Park after verification of continuing education in the current mechanical code. We carry a Heating Contractor license in Rochester with a Master Installers license in gas piping, refrigeration and air cooling, ventilating, and warm air systems. The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry also issues our Technology Systems Contractor License showing we have a Power Limited Technician on staff. To handle refrigerants, our technicians have earned the Type Universal certification from the United State Environmental Protection Agency. Knight Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is also certified by the EPA as a Lead-Safe Certified Firm to conduct renovation, repair, and painting activities.
